Seared Scallops with Lemon Butter

Benefits: Scallops are rich in lean protein and selenium, which support skin elasticity and fight oxidative stress. Lemon adds vitamin C for a brightening boost.

Skin Concern: Premature aging

Prep Time: 10 minutes | Cook Time: 5 minutes | Serves: 2

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb sea scallops (patted dry)
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 clove garlic (minced)
  • Juice of 1/2 lemon
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions:

  1. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Season scallops with salt and pepper and sear for 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown. Remove from skillet.
  3. In the same skillet, melt butter and sauté garlic for 1 minute. Stir in lemon juice.
  4. Drizzle the lemon butter sauce over the scallops and serve.

Tips:

  • Use dry scallops to achieve a perfect sear.
  • Pair with steamed asparagus or roasted sweet potatoes.
