Steamed Chicken & Shiitake Dumplings with Ginger-Sesame Dipping Sauce

Posted by Manjeri Skincare Team on

Benefits:
Ground chicken provides protein and zinc to support skin repair. Shiitake mushrooms are rich in selenium and antioxidants that help protect against environmental skin damage. Ginger and garlic enhance circulation and detoxification, while sesame oil offers essential fatty acids to strengthen the skin barrier.

Skin Concern: Inflammation, dullness, loss of elasticity

Prep Time: 25 minutes | Cook Time: 10 minutes | Serves: 2

Ingredients:
For the Dumplings:

  • 1/2 lb ground chicken

  • 1/2 cup shiitake mushrooms, finely chopped

  • 1 green onion, finely sliced

  • 1 garlic clove, minced

  • 1 tsp grated ginger

  • 1 tbsp coconut aminos or low-sodium soy sauce

  • 1 tsp toasted sesame oil

  • 12 round dumpling wrappers (or gluten-free wrappers)

For the Ginger-Sesame Dipping Sauce:

  • 1 tbsp coconut aminos or soy sauce

  • 1 tsp rice vinegar

  • 1 tsp sesame oil

  • 1/2 tsp grated ginger

  • Optional: pinch of chili flakes

Instructions:
In a bowl, mix ground chicken, chopped mushrooms, green onion, garlic, ginger, coconut aminos, and sesame oil until well combined.
Place a small spoonful of filling in the center of each wrapper. Wet the edges with water and fold to seal, pressing out any air. Crimp edges if desired.
Steam dumplings in a bamboo steamer or steamer basket lined with parchment for 8–10 minutes until the chicken is cooked through.
Whisk together all dipping sauce ingredients in a small bowl.
Serve dumplings hot with dipping sauce and garnish with extra green onions or sesame seeds.

Shopping Tips:

  • Chicken: Choose lean, organic ground chicken for cleaner protein.

  • Shiitake: Use fresh mushrooms for the most potent antioxidant and flavor boost.

  • Dumpling Wrappers: Look for all-natural ingredients; try rice paper or cassava-based options if gluten-free.

Cooking Tips:

  • Don’t overfill the dumplings to prevent tearing during steaming.

  • Add chopped spinach or napa cabbage for extra fiber and folate.

  • Freeze uncooked dumplings on a tray, then store in a bag for easy future meals.

These delicate dumplings are light yet satisfying. Perfect for supporting your glow with every bite of collagen-friendly, inflammation-fighting goodness.
