Cuban Mojo Salmon Tacos with Avocado Crema

Posted by Manjeri Skincare Team on

Benefits: Salmon is rich in omega-3 fatty acids that reduce inflammation and boost skin elasticity. The citrus-garlic mojo marinade supports detoxification and brightness, while avocado delivers vitamin E and deeply hydrating fats for a soft, supple complexion.

Skin Concern: Inflammation, dullness, dry patches

Prep Time: 15 minutes + marinating | Cook Time: 10 minutes | Serves: 2

Ingredients:

  • 2 salmon fillets

  • 4 corn tortillas

  • 1/4 red onion, thinly sliced

  • Olive oil for searing

Mojo Marinade:

  • Juice of 1 orange

  • Juice of 1 lime

  • 2 garlic cloves, minced

  • 1 tbsp olive oil

  • 1/2 tsp ground cumin

Avocado Crema:

  • 1/2 avocado

  • 1 tbsp lime juice

  • 1 tbsp water

  • Pinch of sea salt

Instructions:

  • Marinate Salmon: In a small bowl, whisk all mojo marinade ingredients. Pour over salmon and marinate for 15–30 minutes.

  • Cook Salmon: Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high. Sear salmon fillets for 3–4 minutes per side until cooked through.

  • Make Avocado Crema: Blend avocado, lime juice, water, and salt until smooth and creamy.

  • Assemble Tacos: Warm tortillas, flake the salmon, and build tacos with salmon, red onion, and a generous drizzle of avocado crema.

Shopping Tips:

  • Use wild-caught salmon for better omega-3 content and clean protein.

  • Look for soft corn tortillas with minimal ingredients—just corn, water, and lime.

Cooking Tips:

  • Add quick-pickled cabbage or microgreens for crunch and extra skin-loving antioxidants.

  • For added zest, garnish with lime wedges and chopped cilantro.
