Benefits:
Grass-fed beef provides collagen-boosting protein and zinc to repair skin. Tomato-rich chili offers lycopene for UV protection and anti-aging, while real cheddar delivers vitamin A and omega-3s. Swapping refined ingredients for whole-food versions keeps this indulgent dish skin-supportive.

Skin Concern: Inflammation, loss of elasticity, skin stress

Prep Time: 15 minutes | Cook Time: 20 minutes | Serves: 2

Ingredients:

For the Chili:

  • 1/2 lb grass-fed ground beef or ground turkey

  • 1/4 cup diced onion

  • 1 garlic clove, minced

  • 1/2 cup crushed tomatoes (BPA-free can or fresh)

  • 1/4 tsp chili powder

  • 1/4 tsp smoked paprika

  • 1/4 tsp ground cumin

  • Sea salt and black pepper to taste

  • Optional: 1/4 cup cooked black beans for added fiber

For the Cheese Sauce:

  • 1/2 cup shredded organic sharp cheddar cheese

  • 1/4 cup full-fat plain Greek yogurt or grass-fed milk

  • 1 tsp arrowroot or tapioca starch (optional for thickening)

  • Pinch of garlic powder

For Assembly:

  • 2 nitrate-free, all-beef or turkey hot dogs

  • 2 sprouted grain or sourdough buns

  • Optional toppings: chopped red onion, pickled jalapeños, fresh parsley.

Instructions:

  • In a skillet, brown the beef with onion and garlic. Drain excess fat if needed.
  • Add crushed tomatoes and spices. Simmer for 10–15 minutes until thickened.
  • For the cheese sauce, heat yogurt or milk gently in a pan.
  • Stir in cheese and whisk until smooth.
  • Add starch if you prefer a thicker sauce.
Grill or sear hot dogs until golden and cooked through.
  • Toast buns lightly.
  • Assemble: Place each hot dog in a bun, top with warm chili, drizzle with cheese sauce, and add any garnishes.

Shopping Tips:

  • Hot Dogs: Look for nitrate-free, grass-fed, or organic brands.

  • Cheese: Choose aged cheddar from grass-fed sources for richer nutrient content.

  • Buns: Go for sprouted grain or sourdough to support digestion and reduce glycemic impact.

Cooking Tips:

  • Let the chili rest a few minutes before spooning it on. This helps it thicken and sit neatly on your dog.

  • To save time, make the chili ahead and refrigerate, flavors deepen overnight.

  • Add a handful of arugula or spinach in the bun before assembly for an antioxidant bonus.

This is the real-deal chili cheese dog, reimagined just enough to glow from the inside out. Craveable, nostalgic, and totally skin-conscious.
