Crab is packed with zinc and protein to support skin repair and collagen production, while artichokes are rich in antioxidants that help protect against environmental stressors. Spinach adds iron and vitamin A for skin renewal, and olive oil provides healthy fats that help maintain a soft, supple glow.

Skin Concern: Loss of elasticity

Prep Time: 20 minutes | Cook Time: 40 minutes | Serves: 4

Ingredients:

For the Filling:

  • 1 tbsp olive oil

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 cup fresh spinach, chopped

  • 1 cup canned or jarred artichoke hearts, drained and chopped

  • 1 cup lump crab meat

  • ½ cup ricotta cheese

  • ¼ cup grated parmesan cheese

  • ½ tsp sea salt

  • ¼ tsp black pepper

For the Sauce:

  • 2 tbsp butter

  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour

  • 2 cups milk

  • ½ cup grated parmesan cheese

  • ¼ tsp nutmeg

  • Pinch sea salt

For Assembly:

  • 6 lasagna noodles, cooked

  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

  • Extra parmesan for topping

Instructions:

  • Prepare the Filling: Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add garlic and sauté until fragrant, then stir in spinach and cook until wilted. Add chopped artichokes and cook for another 2 minutes. Remove from heat and fold in crab meat, ricotta, parmesan, salt, and pepper. Set aside.

  • Make the Sauce: In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Whisk in flour and cook for 1 minute. Gradually add milk, whisking continuously until smooth and thickened. Stir in parmesan cheese, nutmeg, and a pinch of salt.

  • Assemble the Lasagna: Preheat oven to 375°F. Spread a thin layer of sauce on the bottom of a baking dish. Add a layer of lasagna noodles, followed by the crab and artichoke filling, then sauce. Repeat layers, finishing with sauce and topping with mozzarella and extra parmesan.

  • Bake: Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove foil and bake an additional 15 minutes until golden and bubbly.

  • Serve: Let cool slightly before slicing and serving.

Shopping Tips:

  • Choose fresh lump crab meat when possible for the best flavor and nutrient density

  • Look for artichoke hearts packed in water or olive oil without added preservatives

  • Opt for whole milk or a high-quality plant-based alternative for a creamier sauce

Cooking Tips:

  • Add a squeeze of lemon juice to the filling to brighten flavors and enhance nutrient absorption

  • Let the lasagna rest before cutting to help it hold its shape

  • Use whole grain lasagna noodles for added fiber and skin-supporting nutrients

This comforting, elevated lasagna delivers a balance of indulgence and nourishment, making it a perfect glow-boosting meal for cozy evenings.
